This posting is sort of a hodge-podge of things, since I haven't updated in a while.
Jamie has been standing on his own for a while now. He lasts only a few seconds each time, but he's really getting his feel for balance.
Here's a cute pic of Cam & his bed-head. He's the only kid we'll have with hair as a baby. It's adorable (although we love our bald babies, too)!
Two weekends ago was our last weekend at the lake. We have photos of Corbin driving the float-boat from his first summer at the lake, so we thought we would capture the twins, too.
The babies are eating more and more real table foods. I will admit that Cameron is pickier than Jamie. He reminds me of Corbin- prefering the smoother textures; however, Corbin liked to feed himself. Cam knows how, and he WILL- if we give him a lot of time. Jamie just digs right in, though.
Here are a couple of cute pics of Corbin from our last weekend of the summer at the lake.
It was great-grandpa Montgomery's 88th birthday celebration. Happy birthday grandpa!
Switching gears a little bit, this past weekend, we had houseguests from Tennessee. It was a spur of the moment thing, but it turned out fantastically. J and I have known each other for over 3 years & we met on a birthboard with our firstborns. I remember when she went to the ultrasound to find out if her baby was a boy or a girl & she stopped at Steak n Shake afterward. I mean, you really get to know someone after talking nearly every day for 3 years.
I had a race planned for this weekend, but she was cool with just running it with me- a half marathon! Of course, she does run as a hobby just like I do, but that still takes some guts. It was great to meet her and her family. Here are some photos from our visit.
Her daughter, E, was a little mother. She loved feeding, hugging and kissing the babies.
Here is Corbin and her daughter, B. They were so cute together!
We spent some time in German village. Here are our hubbies with our first babies!
We ate the buffet at Schmidt's. Thankfully, it was nice and loud in there, and we didn't have to wait to get food. I had one of the large beers & Cam thought he'd help me out.
The race was on Sunday & it was earrrrly and brisk. We warmed up with some Tim Horton's coffee before we ran. This was us, pre-race:
and here we are, post-race. We didn't know our hubbies were coming to the finish line, so they surprised us. We crossed the finish line at 2:20:55.
A very fun weekend indeed & I can't wait to see them again in November, when we travel to Nashville for another meet-up.
