A Taste of the Outdoors

Throughout March, we had a couple of days where we could tolerate the outdoor weather long enough to have an enjoyable time for a couple of hours. The winter was too long & we really have cabin fever around here.

It took Cameron and Corbin a few times each before they really warmed up to it. Cameron was uncertain about the grass at first, but he quickly got over it. Corbin was uncertain because he's been so used to indoor activities. He had to be convinced otherwise.

Silly Jamie, showing off for his brothers

We are trying to move Corbin away from the alphabet toys and on to more interactive toys and activities for socialization. Grandma Mary bought him a soccer net about a week ago. Here he is trying it out!

Goal!!

We also purchased a bubble machine off of the internet. It is sort of stronger than we anticipated. We had to bolt it down to the deck, even. It puts out thousands of bubbles ad is pretty impressive. I anticipate neighborhood kids flocking to our backyard this summer, wondering if there is a party going on. LOL.

We can't wait for better weather!

Daddy's Birthday, One Month Later

Too many photos and not enough time...

We had a nice long birthday week for Jon in early March. We took a quick trip to Toledo to celebrate with family first.

Here is the birthday boy, opening some beer from his Mom :)

If there is a balloon to be found, Corbin will find it!

Jamie was really fascinated with George the Owl

Random adorable pics of the boys hanging out at great grandma and great grandpa's house:

Cameron demonstrates that he knows his body parts by pointing to them:

Then we had yummy pizza and ice cream cake from DQ- something that Corbin can also eat. Yeah, our birthday celebrations are mostly about pigging out...

Here is the birthday boy again. The funny story to this cake is that we had to pick it up around 11 in order to have lunch before the twins went down for a nap. But DQ doesn't open until 1. So, Jon pounded on the door & was able to convince the workers who were doing preparations for the day to let him come in & pick out a premade cake. Beggars can't be choosers, so he got a really rad car cake. LOL

Then the at-home celebrations began.

I started off the week by attempting cakeball pops. They were a little tricky to dry, since I didn't read ahead of time that I needed styrofoam, but they were very tasty. Jon took the leftovers to work so that they wouldn't be sitting around all week.

The boys made Daddy a very special birthday card this year with a special birthday wish:

On his actual birthday, we ate one of his favorite meals- sushi!

I ordered him a giant M & M fortune cookie, which was so yummy!

I also gave him a birthday dozen of Shari's Berries.

Thank goodness that we don't have a birthday every week, or we would be huge!
