Haute Dog Fest 2011- Nashville Road Show

What a fantastic Memorial Day weekend we had!

Every year, our family has a family reunion over Memorial Day weekend when we get together to catch up, laugh and eat a bunch of specialty hot dogs (Cincinnati-style coneys and Chicago dogs) and sides.

This year, we took the reunion to Nashville. All of my Dad's brothers and the 2 generations after them were there. We hailed from Colorado, Florida, Michigan and Ohio to be there for this one special day.

We were exhausted by the time we got down there on Saturday afternoon. Even though there is just a one hour time difference, since the twins go to early (between 6:30 and 7:00 EST), we had a sketchy late afternoon ahead of us. We settled this problem by just staying in the hotel that afternoon and getting the babies to bed at a reasonable time (between 7 and 7:30 EST).

Sunday morning, we took a quick swim in the hotel pool before getting ready. Then we headed off to Barry and Dawn's house to celebrate our family.

We spent most of our time outdoors. It was a hot day, but they have a great covered outdoor room with a fan that made it bearable. The boys had a fun time playing with the giant bubbles.

Little Maya, who is nearly 2 years old already. Where does the time go?

There was a lot of catching up to be done

Playing around

Crystal and Abby practicing some volleyball in the yard

After a while, we decided to change the boys into swimsuits and turn on the sprinkler.

A couple of silly shots

Cooling off indoors

Jamie does this funny thing where he always peeks under doors. Corbin was taking a potty break.

Tickle, tickle

We took another cooling off break in the playroom. Barry and Dawn have 3 girls, but the boys managed to find the cars!

It has been a very long time since we got a complete family photo

Here are the Miller brothers and their wives. Together, they have been married for a combined total of over 150 years. Isn't that amazing?!

Here are all of the cousins together

Second cousins!

And here are the Miller brothers: Bud, Kevin, Gary and Dean

Here they are, sucking it in. LOL

On Monday morning, we got up and had breakfast downstairs in the atrium. I was lucky to snap this cute pic of my dad and Cam.

After we got cleaned up, we headed over to Uncle Bud and Aunt Carolyn's home to hang out. The boys loved their pool and Corbin got really comfortable swimming by himself.

We got Amie to take a family photo of us in the pool

After a while, the boys were getting tired and cranky (naps were delayed a bit), so we dried them off and hit the road after a few snuggles from Grandma and Grandpa.

Then we hit the road & 7 hours later, we were back at home. It was a very memorable weekend.
