Corbin Turns 4!

Corbin's fourth birthday was yesterday!

He woke up around 7 & we opened his presents from us right away. He got a occupation/alphabet puzzle, a laminated map of the United States that we hung in his room and a large set of Lincoln Logs.

Then we ate birthday pancakes, which are made from cake mix and served with frosting and sprinkles. I might has well have given everyone cereal, because everyone only ate a couple of bites, like usual. I figured it would be different if I served cake for breakfast. Guess not!

Later, we had Corbin's birthday party at the Kingdom of Bounce. We invited all of MOMS Club, all of his classmates and a few other friends. We had 20 guests show up, plus our 3 kids, so it was a full party!

It was so fun to watch the kids bouncing around and having fun. At first, the twins (especially Cameron) were intimidated by the noise and the crowd, but they quickly warmed up. Corbin had a look of pure joy on his face for the entirety of the party. It sure was sweet to see him light up like that.

When we got home, he opened up all of his presents. He was so excited to see games, crafts, art supplies and other fun toys. We spent most of today playing with all of the new stuff. He is really enjoying the games, which is wonderful!

Here are a few pics from the party yesterday.

This little girl's name is Elliana

We couldn't convince Corbin to sit in the Birthday Throne and pose, but we were able to get Jamie and Ethan to do it!

Development Updates

Corbin has been in preschool for a couple of months now. He mostly gets good reports, although we had a couple of "off" days in late October. I think that he gets stressed when we're really busy around the house.

He's doing great in OT. He's getting the hang of his pincer grip, doing wonderfully with transitions, and his finger strength is getting better all of the time. He's seeing his therapist for an hour per week, plus he is getting OT in school.

He is also doing wonderfully with speech. He actually passed a standardized test recently & he is within normal limits for his age; however, he is still getting speech for the social language aspect. In fact, they would prefer to switch him to group therapy instead, but we haven't had anything come up that meets our schedule.

He was recently evaluated in school for physical therapy services. They were concerned that he possibly has a weak trunk because he doesn't seem to maintain a sitting position for long at circle time. He also leans back while sitting or sits in a "W" position for more stability. They picked him up for services, but his deficits are not huge. The gym teacher that comes in once weekly is going to add Corbin to his routine. They are going to work on balance activities, catching and throwing to help strengthen his core.

He's had it rough with his asthma lately. Every time he catches a cold (which is more frequently now that he's in preschool), his asthma flares up. I hope that we get that under better control soon.

He was weighed at the doctor's office this morning as a "model" for his brothers during their appointments and he weighs 37 pounds.

We are very excited about his birthday in a couple of days. We will celebrate with Mom's group and his classmates at the Bounce House on Sunday.

Jamie weighs 30 lbs and is 34" tall. He is extremely smart and can follow directions really well. He's very social and still enjoys being the comedian. He can be shy when he meets someone new. He is slightly behind in speech, but we talked to the pediatrician this morning and she is willing to give him a couple of months to catch up.

Cameron weighs 24 lbs and is 32" tall. He is a great communicator. He is really good at imitating any word he hears and is starting to combine words into two word sentences. He will be having eye surgery in January to correct his eye-crossing. He will still need his glasses, but hopefully, the crossing will improve.

The other day, Cam launched himself out of his crib. He met me at the door of his room and told me that he bumped his head. So, we converted them that night to toddler beds. The first night, they were upset about the change and cried at the door for a few minutes before crashing. I moved them into their bed while they slept and they stayed in bed all night.

Yesterday, they did not nap at all and proceeded to explore and destroy their room. Bedtime went great, though, and they fell asleep on their own in their beds. Today, they fell asleep right away for nap, but when I peeked in on them, they were snuggling in the middle of the room with their blankets over themselves.

I am doing bedtime tonight by myself, so I hope that it goes as smoothly tonight.

Miscellaneous Photos Part 1

I started messing around with my camera a bit over the late summer/early fall. I have the cutest subjects to practice focusing on, of course.

Most of these don't need captions- they are just cute~

Goodnight kisses!

It was really hot out that evening.

This pic was taken on our way back to the car after attending Greek Fest this year. Corbin liked to grab leaves off of the top of the trees.

I took this in the playroom next to their toy horse. It turned out pretty cool.

Looking out the window at Daddy starting to power wash the deck.

The boys got pretty wet from that!

On October 1st, we went to a family reunion in Hamilton. We had a very nice time & it was great to see folks that we haven't seen in a while. The boys did great on the mini car trip.

Cute pics I took once the leaves started to really come down.

Pushing Daddy on the swings

Cam and Daddy on the swings. Cam still likes to only swing if one of us is holding him. Jamie and Corbin swing like big boys, though!

One day after we had just ut Corbin on the bus, the twins and I hung out in the front yard for a bit. I was going to throw out the pumpkins. The boys started to play with them, so I took a few pics.

Awww

Cuties!

The other day, we took our Christmas photos. Afterward, Jamie started to roll around in the leaves in his good clothing. It had rained a little earlier, so the leaves were wet. He acquired a few stains on his good clothes, but didn't he look super happy? All of the stains came out, but I think that it would have been worth the price of the outfit just to get this adorable pic.
