Jon's Birthday Celebration

We partied for a week!

On his birthday, Monica was here in the morning, so I was able to run out and pick up a Dairy Queen cake for him, some presents and some balloons, which were waiting in his parking spot when he got home.

Monica helped me take some photos, which we used to make Jon a smilebox greeting card.

Here we are at his birthday dinner last night (taken at M at Miranova). We had a very fun date. For an appetizer, we had surf & turf sushi (carpaccio & shrimp). Jon had a filet with pineapple chutney, corn/red pepper/lobster relish. I had diver sea scallops on lobster risotto. We each had an organic lettuce salad with shallot dressing and candied pistaschios. For dessert, I had the cupcake assortment (margarita, vanilla bean, red velvet, rocky road and green tea), and Jon had the coffee & donuts (fritters with caramel and raspberry dipping sauces and a coffee semifreddo). Our server, Deb, had a fun time with us. We had told her that this was a rare night out, so she tried to pay extra close attention to us.

We tried to make his 34th a good one, and I think we succeeded!
